World Suicide Awareness Day
World Suicide Awareness Day is September 10th.
Hi, my name is Olivia! I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but now call Colorado my home. I attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where I received my bachelor’s degree in Social Work. What led me to a career in social work was a mission trip I attended in Haiti. I learned the value of social justice, empowerment, dignity, and worth of a person which led me to find this career. I completed my master’s degree at the University of Denver with a concentration in mental health and a certificate in human-animal environment connections.
I have a passion for animal-assisted interactions in therapeutic settings because I have seen firsthand how much animals positively impact my mental health and want to experience that with clients. I focus on cognitive behavioral therapy interventions, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness techniques while incorporating animal-assisted interactions. My goal is for clients to develop social, emotional, and coping skills to use in their everyday lives with me. Through my own experiences and education, I know how impactful treatment can be to individuals, and want to provide that same level of care for others!
Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. When you’re ready, let’s get started by learning more about each other.
